Nice DPF January 16, 2008 Sharkster (CA, USA) 78 out of 80 found this review helpful
Bought this for my wife for her Birthday just before Xmas and she bought me (unknown to myself) one that's more than twice the price for Xmas. So I had the chance to compare. Conclusion is that it's not worth paying twice the price, you don't get any better quality. My wife is delighted with the Axion display. You should resize the pics to optimise them for the frame resolution though (640x480) since I think the problems the other users have had is that the frame probably doesn't do such a good job at downsizing. Microsoft have a utility to right click a group of files in explorer and it quickly duplicates them at the appropriate resolution. Just google for "Microsoft Powertoys" and download the image resizer from the webpage. Advantage of doing this is the files drop from around 2mB in size to more like 80kB so you can fit tons of pics on a small cheap SD card. Only downside for me is the widescreen aspect ratio of the frame. Natural aspect ratio of photographs is narrower than widescreen, so there's always unused area at the sides of the pictures. Would be OK if it played video files, but it doesn't. Not a big gripe considering how cheap the frame is though. Don't forget, you need a memory card! The frame has no memory built in.
Great Quality Digital Frame November 23, 2007 A. LAU 23 out of 28 found this review helpful
I bought this digital frame for my mom's birthday and she loves it! It has slideshow and plays MP3 songs. The coolest thing is the clock and alarm function. My mom can now replace her alarm clock with this cool digital frame. Perfect gift for any mom!
Best value digital frame by far! January 16, 2008 Burguy76 (Las Vegas, NV) 13 out of 16 found this review helpful
This is the best value 7" digital frame by far. I work in computer business and I find this digital frame a great value. I bought 2 units a while back for myself and a gift to a best friend. My friend loved it and after I tried it, I too loved it. This unit is easy to use and has clock and calendar. When I am not watching photos, I switch it to clock mode. If I want to take a nap, I turn on the alarm to wake me up. It works great at home or in office; the picture loading speed is fast. The screen is sharp and bright. I just can't ask for more. I would recommend this unit to any one. Others are selling over $80 and this unit (with clock/calendar/alarm) only sells for under $80. I give it a 95 out of 100.
Great Value For The Price March 6, 2008 Gadget Man (Houston, TX USA) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I spent a great deal of time on Amazon's website to look for digital photo frames. My requirements, were crisp picture, 7 inch screen, international power supply (110-220V), MP3 music playing during picture slideshow and below $70 USD. The Axion-9702 does it all. It came in a nice box (good gift), quality of product was great, and most important good decent pictures. The product is made in China but show me one that is not. The frame was easy to setup. A lot of cool extra features such as clock, calender, alarm. The remote is useful, but I never used it. The 7" inch monitor is LCD with Hi-Resolution. Great product - a definate buy!!! You won't find any other digi frame with all these features at this price.
Excellent Gift-Item!! May 5, 2008 Dimaryp Evans (Sanford, ME, USA) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
This product was absolutely great! I bought it for a Birthday/Mother's Day gift for my mother. My mother is a song-writter and guitar player and when I began to play pictures among pictures along with music that she recorded herself, she was pratically in tears with how great this item is.
Though the item itself only holds roughly 15 pictures, it was no problem since I had a USB Flash Drive that my father used to use for college. Because he had it, I was able to upload over 50 pictures along with 12 mp3s. And it still had 3/4 of the drive free so you can imagine how many pictures could fit with just a simple $30 accessory.
Oh, and I was reading a previous review about it apparently not repeating the pictures, and I can testify for myself that this is just not true. It repeats the slideshow as soon as it's done going through all the photos, starting at the begining. You can go into the menu and select from Pictures, Music, Pictures & Music, Clock, Calendar, and Alarm.
The sound is okay, considering it's a picture frame. And also comes with a remote and extra ports compatible with many digital cameras as well as the trusty USB port that I mentioned above. All-in-all... This is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone. 5 Stars!!
